DC Universe Online Movement Modes Guide
In this DC Universe Online movements modes guide, I will be revealing which movement modes are best for your powers and weapons.
Read on to discover what each movement mode is and what movement type you should select.
When creating your character in DC Universe Online, you get to pick one of three “movement modes” for their character. However, you need to make sure you pick the right one that complements your hero’s weapon and powers.
There are three movement modes: Superspeed, Acrobatics, and Flight. Each of these movement modes will literally determine how your character is able to move throughout the game.

Superspeed
Superspeed allows your character to move around the map quickly while on foot. While you cannot fly by traditional means, you can run up the walls of buildings and even across ceilings.
Superspeed allows you to traverse any terrain, although you do not get the bird’s eye view of flying. It is slow when trying to go over buildings than other forms but faster when you are running down city streets.
However, Superspeed allows your character to move faster when in combat. This is a huge advantage, particularly when fighting other players in player versus player combat.
Superspeed is great for anyone who is playing a ranged class. What you will be able to do is run away from your enemies, shoot them, and when they close distance repeat this process.
If you choose a rifle, bow, or hand blaster as your main weapon in DC Universe Online, this is not a bad movement choice.
Acrobatics
The Acrobatics movement type allows players to navigate the map by using grappling hooks to swing from building to building. Players can also hang-glide from tall buildings after jumping off them.
The real benefit of being an Acrobat is that you get additional special abilities which help keep your enemy close to you. If your hero is using a melee weapon (such as a Brawler), Acrobat will help keep your opponents in-range so that you will be able to attack them.
However, after seeing Acrobat in action, I must say that it seems extremely clumsy and not nearly as useful as flight or Superspeed. Perhaps this will change as the game evolves.
Flight
The final movement type available to DCUO players is Flight. I suspect most players will pick this movement mode just because it is easily the coolest one. However, you do have to remember that you get bonus abilities for your movement modes.
Despite that caution, it seems that Flight is the best simply because it is by far the most smooth and convenient power. The other movement modes seem clunky in comparison.
You can experiment with the other movement modes, but you should stick to flight simply because as the game stands right now it is outright better than the other two movement types for most heroes.
Conclusion
If you want to have a strong character in DC Universe Online, you will need to make sure you pick the perfect combination of powers, weapons, and movement mode. Experiment with all the movement modes to figure out which works best for your hero.
