DC Universe Online Leveling Guide

DC Universe Online GuideLeveling has always been the largest part of any MMO. Everyone must undergo the often tiresome burden of grinding their desired character to a level competent enough for the exciting end-game content.

It is a battle, but you can use this DC Universe Online leveling guide to speed up the process!

Fortunately, leveling is not that bad in DC Universe Online. The game is much more action-packed and combat focused than the run-of-the-mill World of Warhammer Online Craft. This pace leads to some of the fastest  leveling imaginable, especially when you use the strategies in this DC Universe Online Leveling Guide.

The average player will have no problem getting to Level 30. DCUO is set up that the major quests are delivered to your main menu; eliminating the need for players to hunt tirelessly for their quest-givers who offer a kind donation of cash and useless armor — unless you really want to (more on that later in the DC Universe Online Leveling Guide).

With the quests brought to you, there is not any excuse not to know where to go and level up. In fact, players start getting quests in both Gotham and Metropolis around level eight; leading to a long-list of quests that will never get finished shortly after the game begins.

If you want to keep your character in Gotham and fight Batman’s superstitious and cowardly lot, there is plenty of opportunities to do so without having to leave the town of eternal night. With that said, it is my recommendation in this DC Universe Online Leveling Guide to level up primarily in Metropolis.

That said, Metropolis houses both Superman’s and Wonder Woman’s quest zones, so players will have to jump around less to experience the Meta and Magic quest lines. Anybody who does not want to experience the quests for characters who do not mentor them will not be down-trodden, however.

Much like in WoW where Gnomes don’t have to do Night Elf starter content, DCUO will be able to keep players happy with their desired teacher.

If you find yourself still unsure about where the forces of evil are sitting around waiting for justice to strike, the game has two ways to show you where to go. The first is a minimap with a compass. This little bad boy will take you to whatever area your primary quest is.

The other asset to this action-MMO is the Booster Gold kiosks. DC’s ego-centric superhero has been gracious enough to place his charming mug and voice around both towns, letting you know about every major location in the DC Universe. These locations are also swimming with generic thugs waiting for the beating.

For quick leveling, it is best not to try to grind outside of quests. For example, the early-level content (let’s say level 7-11) reward players with roughly 7 experience points. Completing quests, however rewards over 600 experience points. That’s roughly 85 thugs in place of a simple quest.

Also, the level 7-11 area in Gotham is really close to the Villain spawn-point. It’s hard not to spend more than five minutes there comfortably.

In our next part, we’ll look at some real guidelines and locations for getting the big experience points while still enjoying the feel of the game. There’s a lot to the DC Universe, and no one wants you to miss it.
